FOIOS, VALENCIA, VALENCIAN COMMU, SPAIN - AUGUST 07: World Cup winner Ferran Torres is welcomed in Foios on 7 August 2026, in Foios, Valencia, Valencian Community, Spain. The Valencian village of Foios, where Ferran Torres was born, has organised a celebration in honour of the footballer who scored the goal that secured Spain’s victory in the 2026 World Cup. Ferran Torres has completed a transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain and has been talking about his decision to swap Camp Nou for Parc des Princes.

The Spain star says that he hopes to win the Champions League with his new club and also cited Luis Enrique as a major influence in his decision to make the move.

“This is the ideal club to win my first Champions League,” he told reporters.

“Luis Enrique is like a father figure to me in football. When I had the opportunity to train with him, with the national team, he always placed great trust in me.

“He’s truly a coach who knows how to get the most out of your potential… We’re going to win all the titles together.”

Torres has signed a five-year contract in the French capital and will wear the No. 9 shirt.

He departs after scoring the winner in the World Cup final but under something of a cloud after angering some fans with his comments after the tournament where he urged the club to prove that they wanted him by offering a contract renewal.
