Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images Caitlin Clark may be one of the top scorers in the WNBA this season, but she was snubbed by Candace Parker when she was listing her top-four MVP candidates. At the time of writing, Clark is averaging 21.7 points per game, the third-highest in the league behind only A’ja Wilson (25.9) and Kelsey Mitchell (24.3). Both Mitchell and Wilson were included in the recent MVP conversation, but Clark did not get a mention and many fans have been left baffled. Photo by Michael Hickey/Getty Images Candace Parker leaves Caitlin Clark out of MVP conversation Speaking alongside Aliyah Boston in a video that has been shared on X/Twitter this week, Parker listed her MVP contenders. She said: “In terms of MVP, it may not be in this order, but to me, it’s A’ja Wilson, surprise surprise. Olivia Miles, Kelsey Mitchell. Can I get there? Kelsey Mitchell, Paige Bueckers.” A number of people have since replied to or quoted the clip that has been shared by a Caitlin Clark fan account, and several of them can’t believe Clark is not on the list. One fan wrote: “Jealousy has blinded these women to CC ‘s greatness. Imagine how great she would be with a system, coach, and teammates who realised her incredible gifts. Happened at Iowa, hopefully it can happen in the pros.” A second tweeted: “PB over CC is a complete joke. And it’s even worse coming from a teammate.”
Another simply responded to the comments by writing: “Ridiculous.” A fourth asked: “Wow, seriously?!” before another fan joined the conversation by writing: “This is shocking. I’m speechless. Any MVP list that doesn’t have A’ja, Clark & Miles in the top 3 can’t be taken seriously.” A’ja Wilson has been named MVP in the previous two seasons and has won the title a record four times during her career.
