This year’s WNBA play-offs will begin on September 27 and the Indiana Fever are currently among the favourites to be crowned champions.
Caitlin Clark continues to impress, and her side are currently sitting 4th in the table with a record of 21-12.
At present, Minnesota Lynx are holding onto top spot after they beat Portland Fire on Wednesday, while the Golden State Valkyries are second and the Las Vegas Aces sit third.
However, while the Aces are currently above Fever in the standings, Opta’s supercomputer thinks they are less likely to be crowned champions later this year.
Minnesota Lynx have the highest chance of winning the WNBA Finals
The supercomputer, which updates after every game, currently gives Lynx a 50.4% chance of making it to the final, followed by 44.7% for the Valkyries, 32.0% for Fever and 23.2% for Aces.
When it comes to who will actually go on to win the WNBA Finals this year, Lynx are favourites with a 27.9% chance of doing so.
The Valkyries are the second-most likely team to emerge with the crown this time around.
There is then a bit of a drop-off when it comes to Clark’s team, who are given a 17.8% chance of winning the Finals.
Aces are given an even lower chance of doing so at just 8.6%, while the New York Liberty round out the top five with a 7.3% chance.
The Aces are the current champions, having beaten Phoenix Mercury 4-0 in 2025 to secure their third title.
