The Indiana Fever are entering one of the most important stretches of their 2026 season. Indiana will play its next five games on the road, traveling through four different time zones and facing multiple teams fighting for playoff position. The demanding trip begins Sunday against the Atlanta Dream and concludes one week later against the Chicago Sky.

The Fever enter the road trip with a 22-12 record, a three-game winning streak and sole possession of first place in the Eastern Conference. They also sit fourth in the overall WNBA standings, trailing only the Minnesota Lynx, Golden State Valkyries and Las Vegas Aces.

Here is everything to know about Indiana’s upcoming schedule, latest results and position in the standings.

The Fever will play five games in eight days without returning to Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The most difficult portion could come at the end. Indiana faces the Liberty at Barclays Center on Saturday before immediately traveling to Chicago for the second game of a back-to-back Sunday.

Fever take first place into road trip

Indiana moved to 22-12 with Friday’s 98-87 victory over the Dallas Wings. Caitlin Clark finished with 29 points and 10 assists, recording her 30th career double-double and 11th of the season. She scored 16 points in the third quarter as Indiana erased a two-point halftime deficit.

Kelsey Mitchell added 23 points, while Aliyah Boston finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Boston scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to help the Fever pull away from Paige Bueckers and the Wings. The victory completed an impressive three-game stretch for Indiana. The Fever previously earned an important road win over Chicago before returning home to defeat the Liberty and Wings.

Indiana has won eight of its last 10 games. That run includes victories over New York, Seattle and Dallas, along with a 35-point road blowout of the Aces.

The Fever’s only two losses during that span came against the league-leading Lynx and Las Vegas in overtime.

Indiana Fever standings update

Indiana owns a half-game lead over Atlanta for first place in the Eastern Conference.

The Fever also are fourth in the overall standings, 6 games behind Minnesota.  Golden State is 24-9 and the Las Vegas Aces fell to 24-12 with a loss to Minnesota on Saturday. Then, the Fever, Dream and Liberty are battling it out. Indiana stands 2.5 games ahead of the 8th seeded Dallas Wings. The top eight teams qualify for the playoffs regardless of conference, making Indiana’s position near the top of the league more important than its Eastern Conference lead.

Sunday’s opener in Atlanta carries immediate standings implications. A Dream victory would move Atlanta ahead of Indiana in the conference and overall standings, while a Fever win would create valuable separation. Indiana split its first three games against Atlanta. The Fever won 83-71 at home June 4 before losing both ends of a home-and-home set later that month.

The matchups against New York and Dallas also could influence playoff seeding. Toronto and Chicago currently sit outside the top eight, but both teams will have an opportunity to play spoiler. Indiana will finally return home Aug. 28 to face the Connecticut Sun. Before that happens, the Fever must survive a road trip that will reveal plenty about their ability to contend for a championship.
