NASCAR’s return to Iowa Speedway generated another solid television audience, but Sunday’s Cup Series race didn’t quite match last year’s numbers.
According to Sports Business Journal’s Adam Stern, the Iowa Corn 350 on USA Network drew a 1.10 household rating and 1.929 million viewers.
While those figures still made the race one of the weekend’s most-watched sporting events on cable, they represented a decline from last season.
Sunday’s race drew nearly 1.93 million viewers
Stern reported that viewership was down 11% compared to the 2025 race, while the television rating fell 7% year over year.
Last year’s Iowa Cup Series race averaged 2.174 million viewers on USA Network, meaning this year’s event attracted roughly 245,000 fewer viewers.
The race itself featured another dramatic finish at Iowa Speedway, with Ty Gibbs holding off Christopher Bell over the closing laps to earn his second NASCAR Cup Series victory and strengthen his position in the championship battle.
Despite the year-over-year decline, nearly 1.93 million viewers tuned in to watch NASCAR’s lone Cup Series event at Iowa, underscoring the continued interest in one of the newest additions to the series schedule.
NASCAR shifts its focus to Richmond
With Iowa now complete, the Cup Series heads to Richmond Raceway for another short-track weekend.
The Richmond event marks the next stop before NASCAR closes the regular season stretch, with teams continuing to battle for playoff positioning as the postseason draws closer.
Television numbers from Richmond will provide another measuring stick as NASCAR continues its summer run through some of the sport’s most recognizable short tracks.
