Florida State golf coach Trey Jones was up early Sunday morning, and for good reason. Jones joined a group departing Million Air Tallahassee at Tallahassee International Airport aboard FSU's private plane bound for Philadelphia, where they planned to support Seminole golfer Jack Whaley. Whaley is one of only two players remaining in the 126th U.S. Amateur Championship at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. The FSU standout will face Stanford's Jay Leng Jr. on Sunday with the championship on the line. "It's an incredible accomplishment to win five matches and put yourself in this position," Jones told the Tallahassee Democrat. "This golf course puts pressure on all aspects of your game. It looks like it's playing even faster than earlier in the week and challenging the players even more."
