Jaguars training camp stock report after first preseason game v. Saints

The Jacksonville Jaguars have wrapped up their first preseason game of 2026, defeating the New Orleans Saints on the road by a score of 24 to 20. With the dust now having settled, let's take stock of where this team stands, with a look at those who are on the rise and those who dropped. Stock up: RB J'Mari Taylor The yards often didn't come easy, but Taylor found ways to steadily churn out positive gains. He played key roles in the Jaguars moving the ball down the field during their two second-half scoring drives. He finished the game with 78 yards on 22 carries with a touchdown. Stock down: Injuries to the offensive line This is a position group already dealing with numerous injuries, and then Chuma Edoga exited the game on the first play. Also sidelined coming into this game were Walker Little and Patrick Mekari. Cole Van Lanen remains on the PUP list. Down Edoga and with the backups in, the offensive line unit took its lumps in this game. Stock up: Jaguars' defensive end rotation Coming into the training camp, the depth behind Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker was a big question mark, but the rotational members of this unit have performed well this summer, and that continued in Saturday's game. Danny Striggow had three tackles, half a sack, and a quarterback hit. BJ Green had a fumble recovery, with help from Wesley Williams on that play. Williams also showcased that well-rounded skill set that the coaches have talked about. Stock down: CB Corey Ballentine Saints' quarterback Zach Wilson averaged 9.1 yards per attempt on 16 passes, generating several explosive plays through the air, at least two of which had Ballentine as the nearest defender. Stock up: LB Yasir Abdullah When in the game, Abdullah seemed to be all over the field. He finished with two tackles, including one for a loss, a sack, and a quarterback hit. He also helped create the disruption that led to the fumble by Spencer Rattler. Stock up: The fight in Liam Coen's team It's the preseason -- wins and losses don't matter. Also, the starters did not play in this contest either. That said, Coen wants to build a resilient team that fights to the end, and this Jaguars' roster did that, scoring 18 straight points in the second half to win the game.
