The first tight end off the boards last season was Kenyon Sadiq, who went #16 overall out of Oregon to the New York Jets. In 2025, the Oregon Ducks produced the fourth tight end to get drafted, Terrance Ferguson, who went 46th overall to the L.A. Rams. There is a great chance that the 2027 NFL Draft's top tight end will also come out of Oregon, in Jeremiah Johnson. If that does happen, then we can start calling mighty Oregon the TEU, Tight End Univ. Johnson is the number one tight end on most big boards, and he projects as a late first to early second round prospect right now.  At Big Ten Media Days, Johnson discussed what he's working on to improve his game.  "I'm hoping to focus on just overall blocking this year," Johnson said during his podium time at Media Days. "Just dominating blocks, finishing, and finishing with people in the dirt, with me on top of them, and just catching the ball and just knowing my job is on the line." Johnson is considered to be more of a true, all around, do-it-all tight end than Sadiq was when he was at Oregon. He emphasized what his biggest strengths in blocking and receiving are, when we asked him how he aims to impress NFL scouts. "They'll be getting a dog," the redshirt junior said. "Overall, they'll get a tight end that blocks like an o-lineman, and a tight end that catches like a receiver, runs routes like a receiver. "I would say those are the top three things that an NFL team would be getting." Johnson praised his coaching staff, particularly head coach Dan Lanning, for fostering a positive environment.  "It just makes your job easier when everyone wants to get better, and they just bring people with them," Johnson said. "It just starts with Coach Lanning. He just paved the way, with how he goes about his day, and talking to us, and everything plays a part." Johnson adds that he doesn't model his game after anybody, but "there are a couple of tight ends that I study a lot- George Kittle and Travis Kelce." With role models like that, it's clear Johnson has very high ambitions. He has both the talent and work ethic to reach them.  This article originally appeared on Draft Wire: Jeremiah Johnson could give Oregon draft's TE1 in consecutive years
