Sammy Henia-Kamau scored for the first time since re-joining Jersey Bulls in the summer [Lauren Queree] Jersey Bulls were knocked out of the FA Trophy on penalties after a 2-2 draw at Hayes and Yeading United. The London side progressed 4-1 on penalties to advance from the preliminary round in an entertaining tie. A young island side made an excellent start as Sammy Henia-Kamau calmly put the Bulls 1-0 up having been put through by debutant Luke Lister's precision pass in the eighth minute. Hayes and Yeading, who were hosting the game owing to ongoing building work at Springfield, almost equalised four minutes later when Amari Fashanu crashed an effort off the post. Impressive former Swansea City and Hull City youngster Henia-Kama spurned number of efforts to extend the lead as the first half went on. Tomas Goncalves saw a dipping effort just clear the hosts crossbar while Jack Lumsden and Lister had efforts saved as Bulls looked for a second in the final five minutes before the break. The hosts needed less than a minute of the second half to equalise as Dernell Wynter scored from six yards after a deflected cross fell into his path. Josh Edwards and Ben Schroll had good chances to give Hayes the lead soon after as the islanders defended desperately. But with 13 minutes left Bulls went ahead against the run of play as Casey Nixon played a one-two with substitute Darryl Mvalo before seeing his deflected strike sneak in. But less than two minutes later it was 2-2 - the impressive Gianni Critchlow got to the byline and floated a ball into the back post for the unmarked Brendan Matthew to head in. Seanie McColgan somehow headed wide when free for Jersey with seven minutes left before Jarma Mohamed was sent off for a second booking less than a minute later. The game went to penalties but Henia-Kamau and Jack Lumsden missed Bulls' first two kicks as the hosts went 2-0 up. The island side scored their third kick but the hosts were faultless as Matthew made no mistake with their fourth effort to win the tie.
