CHENANGO VALLEY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - Some changes have been made for one Chenango Valley Warriors alum in the minor leagues, as he has now been picked up by and assigned to his third triple-A team of the season.
Justin Topa was released by the Omaha Storm Chasers, affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, on August 9th. Five days later, Topa was signed by the New York Yankees to a minor league contract and assigned to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.
He would play in 12 games at his last stop with Omaha, pitching 12.2 innings and giving up 11 hits, tallying four saves and striking out nine.
Now he has kick-started his time in Pennsylvania as the next stage in his career.
