Juventus want Jonathan David to leave this summer, with Aston Villa showing interest in signing the Canadian. However, the striker has not impressed enough to attract a permanent departure so far, leaving the Bianconeri with a difficult situation as they look to reshape their squad.

In circumstances like this, clubs often accept loan offers simply to temporarily move a player on. Juventus could take that approach because they clearly want David to leave as soon as possible, but the Bianconeri do not want to face the same problem again next summer.

Juventus Prefer Permanent David Exit

According to Tuttojuve, Juventus believe that allowing David to leave on a straightforward loan would only postpone the issue. They would then have to deal with his future again next summer, which is why their preference is to secure a permanent transfer during the current window.

As Aston Villa prepare to approach the striker, Juventus are therefore focused on finding a deal that allows them to offload David permanently. The club are waiting for interested teams to present an offer that would allow them to complete his departure.

However, Juventus are also willing to consider loan arrangements if they include an achievable obligation to make the transfer permanent. Their main objective is to ensure that David leaves the squad this summer rather than returning to Turin after another temporary spell away.

David Could Thrive Elsewhere

David remains a capable striker, but his performances have not convinced Juventus that he fits Luciano Spalletti’s system. A move to another club could allow him to play in a system that better suits his strengths and allows him to regain his best form.

That was the case during his time at Lille, where he was able to perform effectively in a setup that suited him. Juventus could therefore believe that moving him on is the best outcome for everyone involved.

A permanent transfer would be the ideal solution for the Bianconeri, but an appropriate loan with an achievable obligation would also allow them to move closer to their objective. Aston Villa’s interest could now give David another opportunity to leave Juventus and begin the next stage of his career.
