Juventus set to finally sign Lucumi after Bologna agrees fee

Juventus and Bologna have finally agreed a deal for Jhon Lucumi after several rounds of talks, with the transfer now moving towards completion. Lucumi is set to leave Bologna after the clubs reached an agreement for his move to the Bianconeri.

Bologna had known for some time that Lucumi was likely to leave during this window because he has just one year remaining on his contract. They had therefore been in talks with several clubs over a potential sale, with Como coming closest to securing his signature.

Lucumi Wanted Juventus Move

Como showed the strongest interest in the defender and were willing to pay more than Juventus had initially offered. However, Lucumi did not want to join them and refused the opportunity.

The defender’s preference was clear, as Juventus was the only club he wanted to join. He pushed for Bologna to hold talks with the Bianconeri, despite Como being prepared to offer more from the beginning.

According to multiple reports via Football Italia, Juventus have now reached an agreement with Bologna to sign Lucumi for €20 million. The agreement brings an end to several rounds of negotiations between the two clubs.

Transfer Moves Towards Completion

Juventus worked hard to complete the deal, with the defender having already agreed personal terms with the Bianconeri in recent days. He had been waiting for the clubs to reach an agreement before completing the move.

That agreement has now been reached, meaning Lucumi can look forward to completing the formalities of his transfer. The defender is reportedly eager to finalise the move as soon as possible and begin the next stage of his career with Juventus.

For Bologna, the agreement provides a resolution to the situation surrounding a player with only one year remaining on his contract. Although Como were prepared to pay more, Lucumi’s preference for Juventus ultimately played an important role in determining where he would continue his career.

For Juventus, the agreement represents the successful conclusion of their efforts to sign the defender. Lucumi’s desire to join the Bianconeri helped drive the negotiations, and the clubs have now found a solution that allows the transfer to proceed.

The defender will now look to complete the remaining formalities before making his move to Turin official.
