Juventus steps up chase for Tottenham man as Suzuki could slip away

Juventus are no longer waiting to sign Zion Suzuki on loan from PSG this summer and have stepped up their interest in Guglielmo Vicario, with the club looking to sign the Tottenham goalkeeper on loan instead.

Suzuki is set to join PSG from Parma, but Juventus want to bring him in on loan for the season and give him the game time he might not get in Paris. However, the deal is becoming complicated, as it appears he will move to Paris immediately, leaving the Bianconeri with limited time to find an alternative.

Juventus Turn Attention to Vicario

Juventus cannot afford to wait for the situation with Suzuki to be resolved and are now looking to sign Vicario as soon as possible to ensure the team remains in fine form. The club have been offered the chance to sign the Italian goalkeeper since last season ended, as he wants a new challenge.

However, Luciano Spalletti had previously preferred Suzuki, making the situation more complicated for Vicario. Now, he has opened the door for the Italian goalkeeper to join his team, giving Juventus the opportunity to pursue a different option.

Sky Sports Italia says Juventus have opened talks with Spurs in an attempt to sign Vicario on loan for the season. The move would provide Juventus with an alternative to Suzuki, whose proposed transfer to PSG has made their original plan increasingly difficult.

Spurs Want a Permanent Transfer

The Premier League side want a permanent transfer for Vicario, but they may have to open the door to an initial loan move if they want Juventus to complete the deal. The Bianconeri are not keen on making a permanent move at this stage, meaning an agreement could depend on Spurs accepting their preferred arrangement.

For Juventus, the priority is now to secure a goalkeeper without waiting for Suzuki’s situation to develop further. Their interest in Vicario has therefore increased as they seek a solution that can be completed in time for the season ahead.

The potential loan move would allow Juventus to address their goalkeeping needs while avoiding a permanent transfer for now. With the club no longer prepared to wait for Suzuki, negotiations with Tottenham could become increasingly important as they seek to strengthen their squad.
