Zion Suzuki is going to sign for PSG – but there are big questions now about where he might spend this coming season.

The story of PSG’s attempts to sign Zion Suzuki have taken an interesting twist.

The idea so far was that the Parisians would sign the talented Parma goalkeeper and then loan him to Juventus for a year.

That never made much sense to us – for one thing, PSG’s goalkeeper situation is hardly settled, and they could do with an upgrade right now, not in a year’s time. And why would Juventus spend time developing a goalkeeper for another team?

Suzuki stay disrupts PSG’s pecking order

It’s no surprise, then, that the latest reports claim that Juventus are no longer interested in that deal. And L’Equipe claim that could mean that Suzuki does in fact come to PSG this summer.

In turn, that then displaces last summer’s goalkeeper signing Lucas Chevalier. He was expected to back up Matvey Safonov, but now it feels more likely the club try to find a loan or transfer for Chevalier, and keep Suzuki in the squad to compete for the number one spot.

It’s all up in the air right now.

In other news…

The deal to sign Ferran Torres is almost done – Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the attacker has the green light to take his PSG medical.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi hinted at more transfers in his comments after the Super Cup win this week.

One big team decision in the win over Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup has PSG fans drawing major conclusions about the future of one star in particular.
