MANHATTAN — Kansas State football got Progressive in the ongoing on-field sponsorship push across college sports. Literally.
The university announced Tuesday, Aug. 18, that Progressive Insurance will have its logo on the turf at Bill Snyder Family Stadium this fall. Announced as an on-field logo at 12 other universities, Progressive will also have in-game scoreboard features, in-venue LED signage, and digital and social media integrations on game day.
“We are pleased that K-State has been included in this national partnership opportunity, which speaks volumes about our football program and brand,” K-State athletic director Gene Taylor said in a release. “Progressive is a household name and brand itself, and entering the college football space will provide them new exposure opportunities.”
Schools including Georgia, Iowa, Oregon, Texas Tech, and USC are also among the schools that will have expanded partnerships with Progressive this fall.
Learfield brokered the deal for each school. It's unclear how much Kansas State will make off the agreement. Sports Business Journal reported it's expected to be a multiyear agreement that expires coterminously.
There is no word on whether Flo, the Progressive spokesperson from its commercials, will make it to a Wildcats game this fall.
