The Kentucky Wildcats women's soccer team was supposed to play on Sunday evening, but the weather interfered, so the game against Kent State was moved to Monday. The change didn't slow the Wildcats down, though, and they rolled to a 5-2 victory.
Freshman Kyla Dawn led the way for Kentucky with 2 assists and a goal. Nadia Ramadan followed her two-goal performance in game one with another goal on Monday as well.
Kent State struck first, taking a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute of the contest. Michelle Moskau tied it with a goal on a free kick, and that would be it for a low-scoring first half.
Dawn gave Kentucky the lead early in the second half, and just two minutes later, the Cats scored again. Kent State made it 3-2 in the 68th minute, but Ramadan answered to all but end the match.
The Wildcats are now 2-0 on the season. Next up is their first road trip of the season, where they'll take on Dayton. That match will be played on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 7:00 P.M.
