Anunoby etched his name in the city’s history after helping the New York Knicks win the NBA Finals and end their 53-year title drought. His iconic tip-in in Game 4 against the San Antonio Spurs instantly became a where-were-you-when-it-happened moment.
It capped off the Knicks’ wild rally from a 29-point deficit, which was the largest comeback in finals history.

On Tuesday, Anunoby was spotted intentionally missing three-pointers on a makeshift court at Times Square to help local players recreate his legendary game-winner.

The 29-year-old forward also signed autographs for fans, proving yet again that he is a man of the people.
But with his stoic nature, he said he does not make a big deal out of his heroic tip-in, as reported by Fadeaway World’s Mark Medina.
“I’m not over it as if I don’t care about it. It’s more about that I’m ready for the next season. It was fun winning a championship. It was amazing. But we all want to do it again. So it’s about getting ready to start the next season,” said Anunoby.
Anunoby averaged 21.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.4 blocks in the NBA Finals. He shot 52.5% from the field, including 50% from three-point range. He tallied a 67.2% effective field goal percentage in the playoffs, the highest by any player in a single postseason in league history.
He is back in the Big Apple after attending the wedding of Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordyn Woods in California over the weekend. Also present were Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, Miles McBride, Jose Alvarado, and Trey Jemison III.
