Kyle Korver is leaving the Atlanta Hawks after four years in the front office, Marc Stein of The Stein Line reported Monday night.
Stein reported that Korver is leaving Atlanta on good terms. Korver is also excited about what comes next for him after his playing career, though Stein did not report where he could be headed.
His exit comes after another offseason of changes to Atlanta's basketball operations department. Onsi Saleh now runs the front office after moving from assistant general manager to general manager and then president of basketball operations over a little more than a year.
Korver Moved Up Quickly In Atlanta
The Hawks hired Korver in July 2022 as director of player affairs and development. He had spent the previous season as a player development assistant with the Brooklyn Nets after the end of his 17-year NBA career.
Atlanta created the role for Korver. He worked with the coaching staff, athletic performance staff and front office on individual development plans for players throughout the roster.
Korver was promoted to assistant general manager in January 2023 shortly after Travis Schlenk resigned as president of basketball operations and Landry Fields took over the front office.
Korver stayed in his position as Atlanta's basketball operations structure underwent another change two years later.
In April 2025, Fields was dismissed, and Saleh was promoted from assistant general manager to general manager on the same day. Subsequently, the Hawks enlisted Sportsology Group to assist in their search for a president of basketball operations.
That summer, Saleh hired two executives: Bryson Graham, ex-general manager of the New Orleans Pelicans, as senior vice president of basketball operations for Atlanta, and Peter Dinwiddie from the Philadelphia 76ers as senior vice president of strategy and analytics.
The Hawks promoted Saleh to president of basketball operations on May 27 and signed him to a long-term contract extension. Saleh had finished second behind Boston's Brad Stevens in Executive of the Year voting.
Chicago Considered Korver Before Hiring Graham
Graham also left Atlanta this offseason.
The Chicago Bulls hired him on May 4 as executive vice president of basketball operations after firing Arturas Karnisovas and Marc Eversley with four games remaining in the regular season. Chicago considered Korver among its candidates.
The Bulls hired Graham, who spent 15 years with the Pelicans before joining the Hawks in 2025. Korver stayed with Atlanta through the draft and offseason until Stein announced his departure Monday.
His departure adds another factor for the Hawks as Saleh continues to build the front office around him.
Korver Has A Long History With The Hawks
Korver's ties to Atlanta date back to well before his front-office tenure.
He played 332 regular-season games for the Hawks from 2012 to January 2017, when Atlanta traded him to the Cavaliers.
Korver earned his only All-Star in 2014-15 and received the NBA Sportsmanship Award that year. The Hawks finished 60-22 and reached the Eastern Conference Finals.
He later played for Cleveland, Utah, and Milwaukee before his playing career ended.
Korver played in 1,232 regular-season and 145 playoff games over 17 NBA seasons with Philadelphia, Utah, Chicago, Atlanta, Cleveland, and Milwaukee.
He finished his career with 2,450 made 3-pointers while shooting 42.9% from behind the arc. Korver led the NBA in 3-point percentage four times, including the 2009-10 season with Utah, when he shot 53.6%.
Now his second run with the Hawks is over, this time after four seasons working in the front office.
