The Phillies have Kyle Schwarber as their lead-off man for his league-leading power. It doesn't hurt either that he has some quick instincts before he even steps into the batter's box.
The Twins and Phillies were able to avoid a scary incident because of that.
Just before first pitch of Sunday's game in Minnesota, young fans were brought onto the field to greet each Twins position player. That was when Schwarber noticed that one young fan looked to be running towards the path of Dean Kremer's warmup pitches.
The Phillies slugger sprung to action and intervened before the kid could have possibly ran towards home plate while Kremer was throwing.

And it was a good thing Schwarber was alert too since the young fan was running with his head down. It really could have been a terrible scene if not for that quick reaction.
Schwarber then let the fan know when it was safe to run back to the dugout. He went full Dad Mode in that moment, and it was great to see.
