The Milwaukee Brewers get a much-needed day off Aug. 17 after 17 straight days with a game, and they'll resume operations with a contest against the Seattle Mariners at home Aug. 18.

The team also will be getting healthier along the way. Here's what to know about the team's sidelined players.

Brice Turang

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA - AUGUST 12: Brice Turang #2 of the Milwaukee Brewers throws to first base after forcing out Jackson Merrill #3 of the San Diego Padres at second base to complete a double play during the fourth inning at Petco Park on August 12, 2026 in San Diego, California. Second baseman Brice Turang missed the entire Los Angeles Dodgers series with left knee pain but never landed on the injured list, and Brewers manager Pat Murphy told reporters Aug. 16 that Turang is lined up to return to the lineup Aug. 18.

Turang was potentially available to pinch hit as early as Aug. 15 but didn't enter the game. He said he'd been dealing with knee discomfort for a while, and he felt it slowed him during a critical caught stealing in a loss to San Diego on Aug. 12.

Cooper Pratt

🚨BREWERS REHAB🚨

Milwaukee Brewers SS Cooper Pratt will be playing for the Timber Rattlers Tuesday, August 18th at 6:40 PM.

Shortstop Cooper Pratt, who went on the injured list with a right hamstring strain, would be eligible to return from the 10-day injured list Aug. 19, and it sounds like he'll be back with close to a minimum stay.

Pratt is first lined up for an Aug. 18 rehab assignment with the Class High A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

Sal Frelick

Outfielder Sal Frelick could be back to the club as soon as Aug. 18, though Murphy said after the Aug. 16 game that a decision had not been made. Frelick has played in seven rehab games at Class AAA Nashville as he works his way back from a right shoulder strain.

Frelick has not played for the Brewers in a month. He's been playing mostly as a designated hitter with the Sounds but was cleared to play right field for the duration of the Aug. 16 game.

Frelick went 5-for-22 in AAA with two doubles and a home run.

Abner Uribe

Relief pitcher Abner Uribe said everything on the imaging checked out clean after he was placed on the 15-day injured list with a right forearm flexor strain.

The placement was retroactive to Aug. 11, so he'd be eligible to return from the 15-day injured list Aug. 26. The Brewers play at New York that day against the Mets.

One thing to remember: The roster will expand by one pitcher and one position player Sept. 1, which means the Brewers theoretically could elect to activate an injured player on that date.

JoJo Romero

Left-handed reliever JoJo Romero, acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals in the trade-deadline deal, has been on the shelf since the all-star break after needing an emergency appendectomy.

The original target for his return was activation before the end of August. Since it seems likely he'd have a rehab outing or two before that happens, we should expect to hear some news about his next steps soon.
