Lee Harrison: A confidence booster Leeds United Women opened their account for the 2026/27 FA WNL Division One North campaign with a hefty 7-0 win over Thornaby Women. Goals from all over the park helped the Whites see off the newly promoted side, and assistant manager Lee Harrison was pleased with the display. "Relatively pleased," Harrison began. "It was a nervy first 10 minutes, but once we got the nerves out of the way and got to grips to the game, we were very good in the final third. "A lot of things we worked on in pre-season came to fruition so we're happy, but take the result out of it, we still feel there were elements of the game we could have done better. There's things to work on. "It's definitely a confidence booster and it makes training in the week a little bit simpler, but we're under no illusions that, even with a result like that, the next game's going to be easy. "There's no easy games in this league, so definitely things to improve, and we need to improve for games coming up. "Just work on the things we need to work on," the assistant boss added on next week's test against Chester-le-Street Town Ladies. "That first 10 minutes we were a little bit shaky, so we just need to improve from the start. "We'll look back on the game, look at the areas that we do need to improve on, and work on that training this week."
