‘Let the Man Work,’ ‘This Has to Stop’ — NFL Fans Sick of Justin Herbert-Madison Beer PDA at Chargers’ Training Camp

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert isn’t just winning (well, kinda) on the field; he’s winning off it as well. The NFL star got engaged to pop star Madison Beer this summer, adding to the league’s list of power couples.

Their public relationship has generated plenty of buzz online, including recent viral clips of the couple holding hands and indulging in some PDA during Chargers training camp in El Segundo, California.

Not everyone is excited for the happy couple, however, as some fans online are growing irritated by Beer’s presence at Chargers camp.

Viral Clip Of Justin Herbert And Madison Beer Together At Chargers Camp Irritates Fans

Sports Illustrated shared a viral clip of the happy couple holding hands as they strolled through the practice field after practice during Chargers training camp in El Segundo, one of a few instances of PDA by the couple at camp.

Fans, however, were not exactly on board, having their say in the comments section. While some respected that it was after a hard workout, others weren’t as forgiving.

One user pleaded for Beer to let Herbert get back to work. “Ok I’m officially in the camp of this is too much. Let the man work.” Another user had a similar viewpoint, posting simply: “This has to stop.”

Similarly, another fan asked rhetorically, “Does she go to work with him every day?”

However, one user saw the lighter side, commenting that Herbert is clearly winning on and off the field.

“Bro shredded my defense in a joint practice then walks around with Madison Beer.” The San Francisco 49ers held a joint practice with the Chargers, and by all accounts Herbert impressed, making light work of the 49ers secondary.

This very public display of affection during training camp raised questions from some quarters about the superstar quarterback’s focus. Former NFL head coach Jon Gruden was in the camp of those who were not fans of the PDA.

He outlined his view on “Pardon My Take,” saying, “I just think there’s a time and a place for this. I’m an old-school coach; it’s not the old times anymore. I understand that.”

Many would agree and feel that viewpoint shouldn’t necessarily be consigned to being ‘old school.’

Nevertheless, at the end of the day, Herbert can answer all questions about his focus on the field. If he lights up the scoreboard this season and leads his team to an 11-win season or better, the PDA will soon be forgotten by critical fans.
