Preseason football has arrived for the Detroit Lions.
\nThe Lions play the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday, Aug. 13, in a preseason game at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati. The game kicks off at 7 p.m. ET and will air on the Lions TV Network (Fox-2 in Detroit) with streaming available on Fubo.
\nThe Lions are coming off a disappointing 9-8 season in 2025, one where they finished in last place in the NFC North standings and missed the playoffs for the first time since the 2022 season. Thursday's game will be the first time the Lions take the field in 2026, but don't expect many starters to make appearances.
\n \nLions coach Dan Campbell has already said starting quarterback Jared Goff will not be playing, along with many of the starters, especially on offense. One exception may be rookie tackle Blake Miller, the team's first-round selection out of Clemson in the 2026 NFL Draft.
