Jon Rahm is reportedly highly likely to leave LIV Golf in the next few weeks after three seasons on the tour.

Rahm just won his third consecutive Individual Championship during last weekend’s LIV event in New York.

However, the Spaniard’s domination since joining from the PGA Tour in 2023 has not convinced him to stay.

Rahm appears to be growing frustrated with the off-course uncertainty, including the cancellation of the Team Championship and the ongoing search for new investment.

The 31-year-old is also reportedly owed more than $100 million from his $300m LIV contract amid their financial struggles.

Golf fans have already shared their thoughts on the breaking news on social media, with many suggesting LIV should accept defeat.

Jon Rahm’s future could have major implications for LIV Golf

Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau are by far the two biggest LIV Golf stars, and many believe the tour would capitulate without them.

This could be put to the test following the latest report that Rahm is seeking to exit LIV after the 2026 season.

Here is what golf fans have said about the European Ryder Cup star’s potential exit on social media:

“Yeah, if he leaves, the league is done for sure. Just shut it down,” one fan summarised LIV Golf’s bleak situation.

Another posted: “The clock is ticking… bankruptcy attorneys working thru the night…”

A third wrote: “Surprised we didn’t hear of this sooner. The writing’s been on the wall for long enough that LIV was dead in the water. All eyes will be on DeChambeau’s next move now.”

Some readers suggested that LIV Golf’s potential new investor will almost certainly change their minds without Rahm.

A comment read: “Well if he leaves, LIV 2.0 likely doesn’t meet the terms of the term sheet for 2027 funding from their prospective investor and the whole thing blows up.”

“No big surprise, but a potential blow to the new LIV Golf League investor…” another said.

Assuming that Rahm decides to leave LIV Golf, the next question will be whether he returns to the PGA Tour immediately.
