Liverpool Are Set To Launch A Move For This Paris Saint-Germain Starlet: One For The Future?

In a recent post on X, journalist Loic Tanzi claimed that Liverpool are set to launch a move for Paris Saint-Germain starlet Ibrahim Mbaye. It has been mentioned that the Reds are still showing interest in recruiting the Senegalese whizkid this summer.

Mbaye’s Impressive Rise In Ligue 1

Mbaye enjoyed an impressive campaign at the French club after he put in a few eye-catching performances for them in Ligue 1. The 18-year-old scored three times and earned a couple of assists in 24 league matches for PSG last season.

The France-born talent is currently among the most gifted young wide players in European football. Hence, it is no wonder that the Reds are hoping to land him in this transfer period.

His current contract at the French club will expire in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Liverpool to sign him on the cheap before the end of this month.

Liverpool Are Set To Launch A Move For Mbaye: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Mbaye is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has the eye to play some decisive passes in and around the opponent’s penalty area and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Senegalese prospect can strike the ball with power from long range and can contribute by scoring and creating a few important goals for his team. Mbaye is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also play as a left-winger if asked to do so. However, he is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth in the Premier League if the Reds manage to bring him on board this summer.

We can expect Mbaye to enhance the quality of Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola’s frontline in the long term. He is already good enough to serve as a good, rotational piece in the Merseyside club’s squad.

At 18, Mbaye has the potential to be a success story at Anfield in the long run. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future, so the Reds should focus on stepping up their efforts to land him soon.
