Liverpool can finally sign one of their long-term targets after major transfer update Richard Hughes is leaving Liverpool at the end of the summer transfer window. The Englishman is packing his bags and is joining Al-Hilal after spending just over two years with the Anfield outfit. During that time, he's had a record-breaking window for Liverpool last season and has also made some dodgy transfers that just haven't worked out. However, with him now leaving in a couple of weeks, it feels like he should be going out with a bang. And, at the moment, it doesn't feel like he's really managed to do that but, if he could get this specific transfer over the line, the Reds' fanbase would be rather happy with him.

Fikayo Tomori has been put on the transfer list by AC Milan One of Liverpool's main problems last season was their defence. Injuries and a severe lack of form caused Liverpool to lose many games which led to them only just managing to qualify for the Champions League. Arne Slot also ended up getting sacked for his short-comings which led to Andoni Iraola being appointed as Liverpool's new boss. The Spaniard being brought in was probably one of the best things that could've happened to the Reds as he seems to have similar values to Jurgen Klopp. And, he's actually managed to get the club to listen to him and ensure that players are signed to help cover their problem areas such as Ronald Araujo. And now, thanks to an update from Fabrizio Romano, one of the Reds' long-term targets is finally available for them to buy and, the timing of it all feels a bit like fate.

"Fikayo Tomori has been included into AC Milan exit list today; he’s available on the market," he wrote. "Decision made following talks between Ruben Amorim and chairman Gerry Cardinale." Fikayo Tomori would give Liverpool extra options in defence If Liverpool finally managed to get a deal for Fikayo Tomori over the line, they'd probably be set in defence for a while. The 28-year-old has spent the last few years of his career out in the Serie A and, although AC Milan want to get rid of him, it's clear that there's still a more than solid player within him. Much like Araujo, the Englishman would help bring some proper experience to Iraola's team and, looking at his injury history, he seems to be available fairly often. The fact that he'd be classed as a homegrown player is massive too as it means that he'd easily be able to fit into the Reds' plans. Obviously, there are going to be a fair few English clubs vying for his transfer due to his homegrown status but, of the lot, Liverpool should easily be able to beat them to his signing. That is, especially if Virgil van Dijk doesn't end up extending his contract at the end of this season.
