EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Locomotive FC heads to San Antonio on Saturday for a key USL Championship matchup with San Antonio FC.
The Locos enter the match in sixth place in the Western Conference at 8W-7L-4D with 28 points, while San Antonio sits second at 8W-3L-8D with 32 points.
El Paso has found some momentum after a difficult stretch, winning three of its last four league matches. The Locos have also been particularly strong at home recently, earning three straight home victories while keeping three consecutive clean sheets.
Now, they'll try to carry that defensive form onto the road against one of the conference's top teams.
San Antonio has also been playing well, entering the weekend with two wins in its last three matches.
The matchup also carries plenty of familiarity. The two sides met earlier this season in El Paso, with San Antonio coming away with a late 3-2 victory back on April 18.
The Locos and San Antonio FC kick off Saturday at 7 p.m. MT in San Antonio.
