LSU football linebacker Whit Weeks is on the preseason watch list for the Wuerffel Trophy. The annual award is presented to the FBS player who best combines exemplary community service with leadership and achievement on and off the field.
Weeks returns for a fourth season in Baton Rouge as one of the leaders on defense. After a first-team All-SEC effort as a sophomore, Weeks entered 2025 with first-round aspirations at the NFL Draft, but an injury derailed his year. Now, he takes the field as one of the most experienced linebackers in the country.
Through three years donning the purple and gold, Weeks amassed 205 tackles, including 16.5 for loss and five sacks. His vocal leadership developed to match his play on the field as a junior and it only accelerated after he was sidelined.

With Weeks playing next to TJ Dottery, LSU's linebacker tandem is among the best in the SEC. The Tigers also return Davhon Keys, who's seen plenty of reps in his first two years with the Tigers.
