Jeremy Doku has signed a new five-year contract to stay at Manchester City until the summer of 2031.

The 24-year-old winger has established himself as a key part of City’s attack since joining from Stade Rennais in the summer of 2023, and said it was an easy decision to commit his future to the club as they start a new era under Enzo Maresca.

“I have loved my time at City so far, so to have the opportunity to stay for longer is a fantastic feeling,” said Doku, who has scored 22 goals in 131 appearances to date.

“This club means so much to me – I have developed as both a player and a person. I feel settled here, and I know I am improving every day because of the work the staff here do.

“It’s hard to explain just how much this club does to help players. I don’t take it for granted and it makes me better. With Enzo here now I am really excited about the new season. His style of football is the kind we love, so that’s exciting for the players.

“The City fans are also a huge reason I have signed this new contract. I feel their love and support, and it means the world to me. I want to focus on bringing them the success they deserve.”

Meanwhile City have declined to comment on reports they have rejected a fresh £55 million ($74.2 million) bid from Barcelona for Spain midfielder Rodri.

La Liga champions Barcelona were expected to make an improved offer after City last week rebuffed an opening bid of £38.5 million for the 30-year-old Ballon d’Or winner, who has moved into the final season of his City contract.

Rodri has also been the subject of interest from Barça’s La Liga rivals Real Madrid, but it is understood City are not interested in selling unless the bidding reaches around £68.5million.

Speaking after City’s 3-1 friendly win over Atletico Madrid in Seoul on Sunday, Maresca had said Rodri was expected back at the club on Friday.

The Press Association understands City are in talks with Saudi Arabian club Al Qadisah about the possible sale of Netherlands midfielder Tijjani Reijnders.

The 28-year-old Reijnders, who joined from AC Milan last summer, could fetch a fee of around £51 million after a single campaign in Manchester, during which he scored seven goals and registered eight assists across 50 appearances.
