Doku's pact will keep him under contract with the Sky Blues through summer 2031. He joined the Sky Blues in 2023 from French Ligue 1 club Rennes. Doku, 24, totaled 22 goals and 30 assists over his first 131 appearances for the Sky Blues. He logged 12 goals and nine assists over 91 appearances at Rennes. He also played for the Belgian club, Anderlecht, where he made his senior level debut in 2018. "I have loved my time at City so far, so to have the opportunity to stay for longer is a fantastic feeling," Doku told ManCity.com. "This club means so much to me -- I have developed as both a player and a person." Doku appeared in five games for Belgium at the 2026 World Cup. He logged 341 minutes during the Red Devils' run to the quarterfinals, where they lost to eventual champion Spain. The Sky Blues will play Arsenal in the FA Community Shield finale at 10 a.m. EDT Sunday in Cardiff, Wales. They will host Bournemouth in their 2026-27 Premier League opener Aug. 23 in Manchester.
