Manchester City Would Have To Pay £120m To Land This Chelsea Star: Should Maresca Go For Him?

In a recent post on X, journalist Veronica Brunati stated that Manchester City would have to pay £120m to land Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez this summer. It is believed that the Mancunian club are showing interest in acquiring the services of the Argentine midfielder before the end of this transfer window.

Fernandez’s Impressive Form In The Premier League

Fernandez enjoyed another impressive campaign at Chelsea recently as he managed to put in a lot of influential displays for them in the Premier League. The 25-year-old scored 15 times and secured seven assists in 54 matches for the Blues last season across multiple competitions.

The Argentine talent is currently one of the most talented central midfielders in the Premier League. Hence, Man City would do well to get a deal over the line for him in this transfer window.

His current contract at Stamford Bridge will run out in the summer of 2032, which could make it tough for the Mancunian club to sign him this summer.

Should Manchester City Boss Enzo Maresca Go For Fernandez This Summer?

Fernandez is a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is an accurate distributor as well.

The Argentine sensation can even contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from midfield. Fernandez mainly plays as a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a defensive midfielder or operate in the number ten position if told to do so by his manager. He has a wealth of experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Mancunian club.

We can expect Fernandez to enhance the quality of Man City boss Enzo Maresca’s midfield. He is capable of nailing down a regular first-team spot at the Etihad Stadium in the coming seasons.

At 25, Fernandez has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a great option for Man City to pursue in this transfer period. He will also help the Mancunian giants compete for some major silverware over the next few years. All in all, Maresca should go for someone with Fernandez’s skill set and experience this month.
