Manchester United Are In Pole Position To Land This League One Youngster: One For The Future?

On the latest episode of GIVEMESPORT’s Market Madness podcast, journalist Ben Jacobs revealed that Manchester United are in pole position to land Leicester City youngster Louis Page. Jacobs said,

“The youngster (Louis) Page from Leicester City, that’s heading in a positive direction for Man United. It’s Man United versus Arsenal, but United are growing in confidence there. So even though it feels like it’s been a quiet few weeks and a disappointing few weeks, no doubt, for Man United fans. I still expect them to pull out a couple of signings between now and the end of the window.”

Page’s Rapid Rise In English Football

Page has come through the youth ranks of Leicester City and has done well to establish himself as an important member of their first team. The 18-year-old has already made 22 senior appearances for the Foxes so far, picking up one assist in all competitions.

The talented teenager is currently among the best young central midfielders in English football. Therefore, it is no wonder that the Red Devils are hoping to land him in this transfer period.

His current contract at the King Power Stadium will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for Man United to land him on a cut-price deal this off-season.

Manchester United Are In Pole Position To Land Page: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Page doesn’t mind working hard for his team defensively when needed. He is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and has the vision to create some promising chances for his teammates to score.

The English talent can shoot the ball with venom from long range and can use his strong 1.86m frame to win a few 50-50 aerial duels for his team. Page is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if required. However, only time will tell whether he can adapt to the high intensity of the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to snap him up this off-season.

Page will undoubtedly enhance the quality of Man United boss Michael Carrick’s midfield in the long run. He is already good enough to serve as a good rotational piece in the Mancunian club’s squad next season.

At 18, Page is a prospect to watch out for in the future, so Carrick would be wise to step up his efforts to land him before the end of this transfer window.
