- Both chambers of the California State Legislature have signed off on a measure that would force the Angels to go back to being called the “Anaheim Angels.” Team owner Arte Moreno has long opposed the dropping of “Los Angeles” from the team name, but the state is asking the team to claim the city of Anaheim in exchange for an affordable housing exemption.
