Olympique de Marseille are reportedly targeting Werder Bremen’s Justin Njinmah (25), according to Bild.
In their search for their first summer signing, the Marseille management are said to be sounding out their German counterparts to find out the terms of the deal. Although no offer has yet been made by OM, the situation could nevertheless change in the coming hours.
However, signing the 25-year-old winger will be no easy task for the Marseille club, which must work within a tight budget and may be unable to afford the cost of a potential transfer. Whilst the right-winger is valued at €5m by the specialist website Transfermarkt, he had come very close to joining Hull City earlier this summer for a fee of €9m. However, the deal fell through and Njinmah, who is also being tracked by Fiorentina, did not end up moving to the Premier League.
A conclusion that could therefore work in Marseille’s favour, provided the club can first reach an agreement with Werder regarding the fee required to secure the services of the Hamburg-born player.
