Jeremiah Wells is all over the place and we don't blame him. The Philadelphia native came into UFC 330 as the biggest underdog on the card and was down in the third and final round against Myktybek Orolbai before he pulled off an insanely impressive and surprising victory via Ninja Choke. Take a look.

Jeremiah Wells vs. Myktybek Orolbai Key Facts

  • Winner:Jeremiah Wells
  • Opponent:Myktybek Orolbai
  • Event:UFC 330, Makhachev vs. Machado Garry
  • Date: Saturday, August 15, 2026
  • Venue: Xfinity Mobile Arena, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  • Weight class: Welterweight
  • Card position: Early preliminary card
  • Official result: Submission, Round 3, 1:24
  • Wells' age: 39
  • Record entering the night: 13-4-1

Wells fought at Xfinity Mobile Arena in his home city, a building he once worked in, and he entered the night at 13-4-1. The official result went into the books as a submission at 1:24 of the third round. He owns a 2022 win over Court McGee, who has since announced a retirement fight of his own. This bout ran on the early preliminary card, hours before the main card that closes the night.

Wells, 39, laid his gloves down in the Octagon after the shocking victory. It seems Wells planned for this to be his final fight, but the enormity of the moment and his accomplishment seemingly made him rethink his decision.

He said if he makes it into the Top 15, he may stay. That seems like a long shot, but we’ll see. Perhaps he gets offered another interesting fight — and money.
