Just as the Yankees are set to get back a key piece of their rotation, another star is going on the shelf.
New York announced on Monday, Aug. 17 that Max Fried is going on the injured list with a bone bruise on his left elbow. It is the second time this season the lefty is missing time with the same injury.
On the same day, the Yankees announced that Carlos Rodon will come off of the injured list to start on Tuesday's series-opener against the Baltimore Orioles.
Fried missed over two months with this injury earlier this season.
For the 2026 campaign, the 32-year-old holds a 2.81 ERA over 15 starts.
