Maryland women’s lacrosse has an alumni network that is unrivaled across the entire sport. Seven of its most talented former players proved that Saturday, taking home the inaugural WLL championship for the hometown Maryland Charm in a 16-13 win over the California Palms.

The game’s most impressive performer came from the Terps’ assistant coach Alex Aust Holman, who delivered the game-winning goal to seal her hat trick in the victory. The win came just 10 months after giving birth to her son, Tiger.

Erica Evans, a standout two-way midfielder, delivered a solid performance on both sides of the ball. The 2019 NCAA champion finished the game with a goal, a ground ball and a pair of crucial caused turnovers.

Maddy Sterling built on her stellar 2026 with the Terps, locking down the Palms on defense. She, along with fellow Maryland defenders Abby Bosco and Megan Douty-Marino, held off California during crucial offensive possessions. Aurora Cordingly and Grace Griffin, while held off the stat sheet Saturday, were a big part of what carried the Charm to their championship matchup.
