Neither Myles Garrett nor Puka Nacua were supposed to be missing this many practices based on initial reports, but the Los Angeles Rams don’t expect to get either star player back this week, according to Sean McVay. Although McVay stated last week that Nacua would return to practice, the head coach has now pushed his return to next week. The same goes for Garrett, although McVay would only go as far to say “probably” for both players.
The Rams have pushed all-in with their moves to acquire players like Garrett in an offseason trade, but so far his training camp has been more like “all out”.

Garrett’s knee injury has caused him to miss the equivalent of two weeks of training camp. That’s about to go up to three weeks.
Nacua’s hip injury (psoas) occurred during joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys last Tuesday. This sounds like more than a “hangnail”, as fans were hoping it would be when the injury was first reported.
Being careful with players who are important for Week 1 is not surprising, but same as Matthew Stafford last year, the severity or timeline to return seems to get more significant by the day. And what happened to Stafford?
He didn’t miss a single important snap.
So the Rams may not have anything to worry about with regards to these absences. It’s worth keeping tabs on their progress however since they are so important, the team has invested so much, and the Rams are about to travel across the world for a football game.
