An NBA player is always under the microscope of the media and fans. It’s safe to say that some players get tired of hearing all the negative criticism and use that as a tool for a career year. One player who has always had something said about him is Philadelphia 76er, Jaylen Brown.

Rajon Rondo had a message for everyone in the NBA when he declared that a pissed off Jaylen Brown means bad news for everyone in the association. While on “The Road Trippin Show” Rondo feels that disrespect is the biggest motivator.

“When you get players in that type of mode and he is coming off the season he had…it’s gonna be scary for the league.” said Rondo.

He’s absolutely right. Brown has so many options it’s hard to see him having a real down year. If anything his efficiency is going to be higher because of who he shares the floor with. What’s even crazier is even though Brown scored over 28 ppg the previous year, it’s safe to say he may surpass that. It's a little far-fetched but it’s not out of the ordinary to think that.

The big change that could show his ascendence within the league is how he impacts games. The numbers will come if the effort is there. His defense has been what put him in the upper echelon of the NBA. He recorded a defensive rating of 112.7 and averaged around 109 for his career. When Brown gets locked in defensively it’s hard to find many players who can overcome the length of Brown when he’s plastered to you over the course of a game.

The amount of disrespect he was shown in Boston is a big catalyst for why people doubt him now that he has come to Philadelphia. Technically Brown has always had another teammate to help. When Jayson Tatum was out, many sang his praises and felt he could run a team by himself. Now that he’s traded to Philadelphia it’s back to the same type of disrespect.

We all saw what Brown was capable of when it was just him, so why do people think this was a fluke and he’s going to regress? Having multiple scorers on your team doesn’t mean you can't still be a prolific part of the team. This is why basing an opinion strictly of stats infuriates so many people. When you watch Brown play you can see his abilities to change and game and what an impact he makes.

When the season starts many will be eating their words when they see what Brown has in store for the association.
