Nebraska baseball has added a high-quality athlete to its future outfield after earning a commitment for the Class of 2027 on Wednesday.  Isaac Feller, a 6-0, 167-pound Class of 2027 outfielder from St. Paul, Minn., announced his verbal commitment to the Huskers on his social media pages Wednesday. The Cretin-Derham Hall senior is a three-sport athlete for the Raiders, competing in football, basketball, and baseball. He is rated by Prep Baseball as the No. 30 overall player from Minnesota for the class.  "I am excited to announce my commitment to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to further my academic and athletic career," Felder wrote on his commitment post. "Thank you coach (Will) Bolt, Harvell and Sirianni and the rest of the Nebraska coaching staff for this opportunity."

Following his junior high school campaign in which he aided Cretin-Derham Hall to the Minnesota state tournament, Feller gained traction after a strong July showing for GRB Northstar Baseball.  The Class of 2027 prospect had several strong performances at the plate, including several games with home runs, multiple RBIs, and multiple stolen bases. During an 18-6 win on July 21, Feller hit a first-inning grand slam to take early control in the summer play contest.  "I saw the bases loaded...a lot of people become pretty nervous but I took a deep breath, saw the pitch coming, caught it out front, and was excited with the result," Feller told LakePoint Sports of his performance.

Notably, the senior clocked a 6.30-second 60-yard run, becoming one of the faster players available from Minnesota according to the site's database. While recording a strong summer at the plate, Feller was measured at a 102.1 exit velocity in his performance on July 22.

The future Husker was an All-Section selection and All-Conference honorable mention for his season. Most of his best contests came during the postseason run for Cretin-Derham Hall, with his seven-game run in sections and the state tournament contributing 16 hits, 10 runs, nine RBI, along with three stolen bases.  During the seven-game stretch, Feller slashed .571 / .571 / .893 with an OPS of 1.454. He added a double, triple, and two home runs as well. The incoming senior is projected as a center fielder for his defensive role.  Feller joins Kearney, Neb., right-handed pitcher Will Kaskie as the second August commit for Nebraska baseball this month. Kaskie, a Class of 2028 verbal pledge out of Kearney Catholic, announced last week his intention to join the Cornhuskers. The Rest of Nebraska's Outfield Feller will have some new faces to learn when he joins the Husker program in fall of 2027. Nebraska does have some strong presences already in the outfield with freshman All-American Drew Grego returning for his sophomore season next year, while Devin Nunez would be the only other currently rostered outfielder to play alongside Feller when he arrives in Lincoln.  This past offseason, Lincoln native Max Buttenback elected to transfer out of the program and Mac Moyer began his professional baseball career while several other Huskers remained to finish out their senior campaigns at Nebraska. Will Jesske and Preston Freeman will still have another year at Nebraska, but both could consider longer stays with the new five-for-five eligibility ruling for NCAA athletes.  Continuing the Huskers' Hot Streak Will Bolt's Huskers finished out a historic 2026 season going 43-17 overall, reaching the 40-2 win mark for the 20th time in program history and the second time under Bolt as head coach. Nebraska also hosted a Lincoln regional for the first time since 2008, clinching the program's third consecutive regional appearance. Add in the fact that the Huskers notched back-to-back Big Ten Tournament titles in 2024 and 2025, and Nebraska athletic director Troy Dannen had the confidence to extend Bolt through 2032.
