Despite recent speculation, there are currently no concrete negotiations over Viessmann acquiring a 5% stake in Bayern Munich per Abendzeitung’s Maximilian Koch (as captured by @iMiaSanMia):

There are currently no concrete negotiations ongoing over Viessmann acquiring a 5% stake in FC Bayern AG. Max Viessmann, CEO of the Viessmann Generations Group, has been a member of FC Bayern’s administrative advisory board since 2025. He already provides significant support to the club and leverages his extensive international network. There’s a lot of appreciation with the club, but whether he will buy shares in the future remains completely open.

There is clearly a strong level of appreciation between Viessmann and Bayern Munich, but that does not mean an investment is imminent. At this stage, whether Viessmann will eventually purchase shares in Bayern Munich is uncertain per Koch, despite the other published reports.

For Bayern Munich, the relationship already goes beyond a traditional commercial partnership. Viessmann is one of the club’s Platinum Partners, while Max Viessmann’s involvement gives the club access to valuable international connections and business expertise. A future stake could therefore make sense if both sides decide to pursue it, but for now, there is no concrete deal being negotiated.

If Koch’s information is correct, the speculation may continue, but Bayern Munich supporters should not expect a 5% Viessmann investment to happen in the immediate future.

The bigger question might be on how the story got this far? Tz authored the initial report, while Bild followed up with its own account, but those stories run contrary to Koch’s information.

Who will end up being correct? All fans can do is sit and wait to fund out.
