The New York Giants have been selecting high up in the NFL draft since 2015, with 10 top-10 picks since 2015, and the results are beginning to pay off.

After a 12-year stretch that contained 10 double-digit loss seasons, the Giants might be in position to compete.

Or, maybe not.

In a recent exercise by the analysts and insiders at ESPN, predicting all 32 NFL teams' future power ratings over the next three seasons, the Giants landed No. 22 overall with a rating of 75.3.

Why? Injury concerns. Some of their best young players have already suffered major injuries early on in their careers.

Reason for hope: The Giants look like they might have a franchise quarterback in Jaxson Dart, and they certainly have a tenured and historically successful coach in John Harbaugh. It's tough to rank a front office in questionable power under GM Joe Schoen, but emergent young stars such as Malik Nabers and Abdul Carter could give the Giants a strong bedrock for future growth. -- Ben Solak

Reason for concern: As exciting as the upside is for Dart, Nabers and RB Cam Skattebo, their availability worries me. Nabers is coming off a significant knee injury, Skattebo is returning from a significant lower leg injury, and Dart has to modify his play style by reducing the number of hits he absorbs. -- Louis Riddick

Nugget to know: The Giants are lauded for their pass rush and ranked fifth in pass rush win rate last season. But because of coverage issues, they've ranked only 15th in pressure rate each of the past two seasons.-- Aaron Schatz

Bold prediction for 2027-29: Offensive tackle Andrew Thomas will win Protector of the Year at some point in the 2027-29 window. After an injury-shortened 2024 campaign, Thomas put up a top-10 pass block win rate and top-20 run block win rate over 13 games in 2025. If the Giants' new staff can get a strong running game going with Skattebo, Thomas could get enough shine to land the award. -- Seth Walder

The period of time for this exercise is from 2027 through 2029, so this year isn't included. The Giants ranked highest in the Coaching part (14th), with John Harbaugh now at the helm.

They didn't fare so well in the other areas: Overall roster, excluding QB (29), quarterback (18), and front office (32).
