The New York Giants opened the preseason by hosting the Minnesota Vikings at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Saturday. It was a tough 13-10 loss in their first outing under new head coach John Harbaugh, but it's the preseason. There are always lessons to be learned, areas of opportunity to be found, and reasons things go the way they do. On Sunday, Harbaugh held a virtual press conference to answer a few questions after having some time to digest the game. One of the things he mentioned on Saturday night was that the team came away clean, without injuries. During the virtual session, Harbaugh was asked if there was anything of interest, and while he didn't bring a list with him, he noted one potential injury. "When I think about it, we might have a situation with the Turbo (running back Dante Miller). We'll see with a soft-tissue going type thing; we'll see how that turns out today. That's about the only thing right now," Harbaugh said. Miller had a solid game on Saturday, recording five carries for 14 yards, returning three kickoffs for 69 yards, and making a tackle on special teams. He is suffering from a groin injury sustained in the second half of the game, and his status for the Giants' next preseason game is in question. Due to eligibility issues, Miller was too late to declare for the 2023 NFL draft, and it was determined that he was also ineligible for the 2024 NFL draft, making him a free agent. He's been on and off the Giants' roster and practice squad for the last two years, and he's worked tirelessly to forge a place in the NFL. This setback isn't doing him any favors, though, and he'll have to work even harder to prove he deserves a spot on the final 53-man roster.
