It’s less than a month left before the 107th season of the National Football League kicks off. However, before the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots play in a Super Bowl 60 rematch, the teams will have some preseason games.

While these games don’t matter in the standings, having some football is better than none. Therefore, here is the slate for Sunday, August 16, 2026.

Are There Any NFL Preseason Football Games Tonight?

Unfortunately, there are no NFL games scheduled today, as Preseason Week 1 games were from August 13 to 15. The games will resume on Thursday, August 20.

NFL Preseason Week 2 Schedule

All 32 teams will play one game during the second preseason week of the 2026 NFL season. The games are scheduled from Thursday, August 20, to Sunday, August 23. There will be two games on the 20th, three on Friday, ten on Saturday, and one on the 23rd. The schedules listed here are in Eastern time.

August 20 NFL Games

Las Vegas Raiders at Houston Texans – 8 p.m., Reliant Stadium (ESPN)

After hosting the Arizona Cardinals in the previous week, the Raiders go on the road to face one of the NFL’s most formidable defenses. That is, if DeMeco Ryans gives his starters extensive minutes.

San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Chargers – 10 p.m., SoFi Stadium (NFL Network)

It’s an all-California showdown as the 49ers continue their preparations by facing their intra-state rivals. Meanwhile, Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers are looking to make progress in the ultra-competitive American Football Conference.

August 21 Preseason Games

New York Jets at Pittsburgh Steelers – 7 p.m., Acrisure Stadium (NFL Network)

Four-time NFL Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers could face his former team in this preseason matchup. Likewise, this game is another opportunity for Mike McCarthy to test his offensive schemes.

Carolina Panthers at Jacksonville Jaguars – 7:30 p.m., EverBank Stadium (ESPN)

After participating in the playoffs last season, both the Panthers and the Jaguars will build on that experience to become legitimate Super Bowl contenders. That aspiration depends on the performances of their young quarterbacks, Bryce Young and Trevor Lawrence.

Green Bay Packers at Denver Broncos – 9 p.m., Empower Field at Mile High (NFL Network)

The Broncos could have been the AFC’s representative in Super Bowl 60. While Sean Payton’s crew buries the past, their preparations include a matchup against the stingy Packers.

August 22 NFL Games

Washington Commanders at Detroit Lions – 12 p.m., Ford Field

Both teams are looking for a resurgence for their 2026 campaign. The Commanders hope to re-enter the playoffs while the Lions aspire to make their first-ever Super Bowl appearance.

Baltimore Ravens at Minnesota Vikings – 1 p.m., U.S. Bank Stadium (ESPN)

Newly named starting quarterback Kyler Murray could play some snaps against the Ravens, a team now coached by former Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter.

Atlanta Falcons at Indianapolis Colts – 1 p.m., Lucas Oil Stadium

This matchup could feature Bijan Robinson and Jonathan Taylor, two running backs who signed massive contract extension deals this offseason. Robinson received a three-year, $66.75 million extension, while Taylor agreed to a two-year, $44 million contract.

Buffalo Bills at Cleveland Browns – 1 p.m., Huntington Bank Field (NFL Network)

After hosting the Panthers in the new Highmark Stadium, the Bills travel to Cleveland to face a Browns team that hasn’t figured out its quarterback depth chart.

New York Giants at Miami Dolphins – 4 p.m., Hard Rock Stadium (NFL Network)

John Harbaugh’s journey as the Giants’ head coach continues with a visit to Florida to face a Dolphins team now coached by Jeff Hafley.

New Orleans Saints at Los Angeles Rams – 4 p.m., SoFi Stadium (ESPN)

The Rams boosted their “Super Bowl or bust” mentality by trading for Myles Garrett. This encounter against the Saints could help them gauge how ready they are for the battles that matter.

Chicago Bears at Cincinnati Bengals – 7 p.m., Paycor Stadium

The Bengals have regressed after playing in Super Bowl 56. A victory over the surging Bears could be a confidence booster for Joe Burrow and company.

Philadelphia Eagles at New England Patriots – 7 p.m., Gillette Stadium (NFL Network)

A.J. Brown could face his former team after the trade that sent him to New England. Could he be the key player New England needs to win their seventh Super Bowl title?

Kansas City Chiefs at Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 7:30 p.m., Raymond James Stadium (ESPN)

It wasn’t long ago that the Chiefs hoisted back-to-back Vince Lombardi trophies. However, facing a formidable Buccaneers team could help them make the necessary adjustments.

Dallas Cowboys at Arizona Cardinals – 10 p.m., State Farm Stadium (NFL Network)

Could Carson Beck build on the momentum he established in the Hall of Fame Game? The rookie quarterback could have his hands full against a revamped Cowboys defense.

August 23 Preseason Game

Seattle Seahawks at Tennessee Titans – 8 p.m., Nissan Stadium (FOX)

The defending Super Bowl champions visit the Titans, a team now led by Robert Saleh.
