A little under one month since he was laid off by ESPN, former NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero has a new home.
Netflix announced on Monday that it has hired Pelissero to serve as an NFL insider and sideline reporter for the streaming giant’s 2026 NFL broadcasts.
“Tom Pelissero is joining Netflix Gameday as a sideline reporter and NFL insider for the full slate of games this season, starting with 49ers vs. Rams in Week 1 from Melbourne,” Netflix revealed.
In addition to that gig, Pelissero is also going to co-host “The Ringer NFL Show” and will be a contributor for The Ringer’s NFL podcasts, with a weekly appearance on “The Bill Simmons Podcast” among his duties.

“Let’s go,” Pelissero wrote in response to the announcement.
“Let’s goooooooooooooo,” Simmons said.
Netflix’s first NFL broadcast will be the Week 1 contest between the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne, Australia.
Pelissero will make his debut then.
Tom Pelissero’s NFL Network stint

Pelissero joined NFL Network in 2017 and was one of the top insiders before he was laid off by ESPN after the company bought NFL Network earlier this year.
“Thanks to all of you who watched me the past nine years on NFL Network,” Pelissero posted after being laid off.
“Thanks to all of my colleagues who made the job fun and pushed me on a daily basis. Thanks to my family, who constantly made sacrifices to support me in a life-consuming job. I’m so grateful. See you soon.”
