As we look at the University of Florida's basketball roster for next season, I don't think there's much to say about some of their newcomers. In fact, I truly believe that Florida is by far the best team in America because of what it is returning. This program has a real opportunity to win a National Title next year, and I'm not even worried about some of the new faces. If there's one thing head coach Todd Golden has shown me during his tenure, it's that he gets his guys to play hard and knows how to recruit talent. Golden is one of the best head coaches in college basketball, which is another reason why I think it's very easy to suggest that Florida is by far the best team in the country next season. Entering next year, many consider Florida the best team in the country, and that was shared once again. A lot of that is due to returners like Thomas Haugh, Alex Condon, Boogie Fland, and others. "This (No. 1) ranking is based on the Gators returning six of the top seven scorers — specifically Thomas Haugh, Alex Condon, Boogie Fland, Reuben Chinyelu, Urban Klavsar and Isaiah Brown — from a team that finished 27-8 and advanced to the second round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament," Parrish wrote. " That core will be joined by a recruiting class highlighted by Kentucky transfer Denzel Aberdeen and 7-foot center Jones Lay,” Gary Parrish wrote. Of course, just because Florida has the best team in the country on paper and an elite head coach doesn't mean that it's going to win a National Title. As Florida found out two seasons ago, winning it all is not easy. It takes luck, talent, and everything in between. However, this team is built to win and win a lot. It'll be interesting to see if that's how it all plays out, but I don't see any reason why Florida can't at least get to that spot.
