NEW YORK — There has been no slowing down the Mets since the trade deadline.
With a 2-1 victory on Monday night over the Padres, the Mets have now won four straight games and 10 of their last 13 since their massive sell-off.
On Tuesday night, the Mets will try to pull off a feat that they have not attained this season when they go for a fifth straight victory at 7:10 p.m. against the Padres at Citi Field. The Mets have won four straight games on three occasions in 2026 but never taken a streak further.
The Mets have won three straight one-run games. During their win streak, the Mets pitchers have pitched to a 2.00 ERA while the offense has produced a combined .733 OPS.
Zac Thornton will look to keep the good vibes going in his ninth career start on Tuesday. The lefty is 3-3 with a 2.78 ERA and coming off a loss when he allowed three earned runs in six innings against the Braves.
Former Cy Young winner Robbie Ray will be making his third start as a member of the Padres. The left-hander is 10-7 with a 3.28 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 24 appearance, including 23 starts, this season.
