Ohio State women's basketball will host Connecticut, winners of 12 NCAA Division I national championships, at the Schottenstein Center on Nov. 12, OSU announced on Aug. 17. The home-and-home series was announced ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Last season, the Buckeyes lost 100-68 to the Huskies on Nov. 16. Huskies guard Azzi Fudd, the No. 1 pick in this year's WNBA draft, had 19 points and seven assists. UConn small forward Sarah Strong led all scorers with 29 points while also grabbing 13 rebounds, seven assists and five steals.
Ohio State is 1-7 all-time against UConn, with their only win on March 25, 2023, in a 73-61 upset victory to advance to the Elite Eight.
UConn and Ohio State landed in the same quadrant of the March Madness tournament last year, with the Huskies as the top seed and Ohio State at the No. 3 seed.
Ohio State lost to No. 6 Notre Dame 83-73 in the second round of the tournament, and UConn beat the Fighting Irish 70-52 in the Elite Eight and were eliminated in the Final Four by No. 1 South Carolina.

This season, UConn's top recruit is freshman Olivia Vukosa, a 6-foot 4-inch center and the No. 4 player in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports. Ohio State's best recruit in the 2026 class is guard Atlee Vanesko, the No. 68 ranked prospect. Ohio State returns eight players from the 2025-26 roster, while UConn returns 10, according to CT Insider.
