The Los Angeles Dodgers haven t scored more than six runs since their win against the Philadelphia Phillies on July 22 and haven t scored 10 or more runs since their win over the San Diego Padres on July 2..

The Los Angeles Dodgers haven't scored more than six runs since their win against the Philadelphia Phillies on July 22 and haven't scored 10 or more runs since their win over the San Diego Padres on July 2.

Fast forward to Monday, Aug. 17, against the Colorado Rockies, and Los Angeles scored 11 in their 11-5 series-opening win at Coors Field.

It was a breath of fresh air for the Dodgers all around, especially after their last series against the Milwaukee Brewers capped off their homestand, in which they scored just 8 runs over 36 innings.

Heading into Coors Field, it was a different Dodgers team from the start, and that would begin in the top of the second inning when Mookie Betts led off the scoring with an RBI double.

Andy Pages would slash an RBI single in the third, and Max Muncy crushed his 25th home run of the season to right-center field, a three-run shot that traveled a Dodgers-best 461 feet.

Shohei Ohtani led off the fifth inning with his 28th home run of the season; the first of two he hit against Colorado in the win. That home run also marked Ohtani's 137th long ball in a Dodgers uniform, placing him fourth all-time in most home runs through the first three years with a team.

Ohtani followed that up with his second home run in the bottom of the sixth inning (29th of the year), and the Dodgers broke it open, 9-1.

He finished off his night going 4-for-5 with three RBIs.

The offense kept pouring in, and by the end of it, Los Angeles made quick work of the Rockies, scoring double digits in the series opener.

On the flip side, Blake Snell was on the mound for the Dodgers in just his third start of the year. He cruised through the first two frames against Colorado, needing just 18 pitches to get six outs, but the third inning was a different story.

Snell needed 31 pitches to retire the side in the third, but not before he gave away three free passes and the Rockies found themselves with the bases loaded and no outs.

Fortunately for Snell, only one run would come across to score.

Overall, Snell recorded six innings against Colorado, striking out five and walking three while giving up one earned run.

With the win, the Dodgers improve to 75-51 and look to take the series on Tuesday with Eric Lauer taking the mound for Los Angeles.
