The Oklahoma Soonershave announced multiple changes to their 2027 schedule. All of these changes affect the non-league games, as OU is set to face Alabama, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, and Vanderbilt in conference play next season.
First, OU announced that it will host the Utah State Aggies on August 28th. Originally, that game was going to take place on September 4th. Now, the Sooners will instead face the SMU Mustangs on September 4th, moving that game up a week as well. That contest will take place at a neutral site at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the home of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys.
Oklahoma also announced that they have one remaining open non-league game for 2027, despite a game against the San Diego State Aztecs previously being on the docket. The Sooners and the Aztecs were scheduled to play in Norman in 2027 and 2031, and in San Diego in 2029. It's unknown at this time if that entire series is in jeopardy, or if just the previously scheduled 2027 game will be moved. For now, there's one open slot next season on OU's schedule.

Oklahoma has also recently made changes to the 2028 non-league slate. Reportedly, OU is set to face Temple, Missouri State, and Houston in 2028, after it was initially thought they'd play Colorado State instead of Missouri State that year. The university has yet to publicly confirm anything about the changes for 2028, as this is clearly a very fluid situation over the next few years with opponents outside of the SEC.
Oklahoma is required by the SEC to play nine conference games and three non-league games. At least one of those non-league games has to come against a team from the Big Ten, the ACC, or the Big 12, or be against Notre Dame.
